What does a diving course consist of?

The PADI Open Water course is the first level of certification that PADI offers. It is a process where you will learn what is necessary to dive independently from a diving professional. And at last you will be able to acquire an internationally recognized license to dive all over the world.

What is PADI?

PADI is the world’s leading diver training organization, it stands for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors or, in Spanish, Asociación Profesional de Instructores de Buceo.

How long does it take to get PADI certified?

Only 3 days, we have a comfortable itinerary so that you can take your course and continue your plans without spending more time, on the first day you will do your theorical part and on the next two days you will only need half a day to go on the dives.

Is it difficult to learn to dive?

Learning to dive is very easy, you just have to know how to swim and breathe, the rest falls just with practice and good professional instruction. Diving is a discipline that can be practiced by people of all ages from 8 years old.

What can I do if I have never dived?

We have a plan for people who will carry out the activity for the first time, you will be accompanied by a professional guide who will help you carry out the activity, go ahead and discover the underwater universe!.

What does Scuba mean?

Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, today is the main means of staying underwater in underwater sports.

Can I bring valuables?

You can bring your camera or your cell phone with you as long as they resist splashes of water or have a protector for these, it is not recommended to bring accessories since during the activity you could lose them.

What should I bring?

You only need to bring your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen, all our plans include equipment rental, water to hydrate during the activity and snack.

Should I bring food?

It is not necessary  bring food, remember our plans include a small snack during the activity, but if you prefer you can bring a fruit or a small snack.

Can I eat before diving?

Of course! We recommend you eat something light.

Can I drink alcohol?

Do not consume alcohol, drugs or tobacco before diving. Alcohol and drugs, even in amounts that have minimal effects on our bodies on the surface, can interfere with good judgment deep down, where the pressure can increase its consequences.

How long in advance should I book?

The sooner the better! You can make your reservation even a day before, but we always recommend you book as far in advance as possible in order to secure your space on your chosen date.

Can I do the diving activity immediately after getting off a plane?

Diving after flying does not in itself create a problem, you can dive right away; the only thing is simply to be fit to perform the activity.

Is it necessary to know how to swim?

To carry out a mini course / baptism it is necessary to know how to float, you will be accompanied by a professional who will teach you basic skills to be able to carry out the activity and will guide you during its development. In case you are interested in taking one of our courses, it is necessary to know how to swim, since it is part of one of the skills required to obtain your certification.

My ears hurt when snorkeling or on the plane, does this prevent me from diving?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions we get, and the answer, generally speaking, is that it shouldn’t stop you.
Assuming there is no physiological irregularity in your ears or nasal and frontal sinuses, this discomfort is the normal effect caused by the pressure of the water against the membranes of your ears.
Our body is designed to adapt to pressure changes in our environment, and you just need to learn the most effective and correct ways to compensate for this pressure difference so that this discomfort disappears immediately.

Can I Fly after Diving?

No. Absolutely.

After diving you have to wait a time that will depend on the conditions of the dive and the number of dives you have done.

After a single dive: 12 hours.

After several successive dives or several days of diving: 18 hours.

Can I take the advanced course without having taken the open water course?

No, to take the advanced course it is necessary to have open water certification, surely in your advanced course you will need knowledge that is learned in the open water course.

From what age can you dive?

From the age of 8 you can start the diving activity.

What are the diving spots?

We have several dive sites that are chosen daily depending on weather conditions and the order given by the Port Captain.

Do I have to pay an additional value for the photos?

No, all our plans include the photos, it is not necessary to pay an additional value, you just have to enter our website and there you can download them.

I have PADI certification but I haven't dived for two years, what should I do?

You must perform a refresh, after 6 months without diving it is necessary to perform a refresh that will allow you to remember basic skills to carry out the activity.
